Overview
RTP-based clinical-stage regenerative-medicine biotech founded 2016, headquartered at The Frontier, 800 Park Offices Drive, Suite 403. Proprietary cell-free amniotic fluid platform; specialties span wound care, ophthalmology, aesthetics, and podiatry. Leadership: Chris Broderick (CEO), Dr. Roger Ilagan (CSO).
Lead program
MTX-001 is a first-in-class injectable biologic for chronic wound biology. Phase 2 trial NCT04647240 in venous leg ulcers was amended to add a co-primary efficacy endpoint to support registration, following FDA Type C meeting alignment; expanded access program NCT06730022. 95 treated subjects across Phase 2 and the expanded access program. An April 7, 2026 subgroup analysis of 17 chronic VLU patients (9 completing 12 weeks) showed statistically significant ulcer size reduction by weeks 8 and 12. Phase 2 Part 1 was published in the International Wound Journal in March 2025. Plans call for pilot-scale registrational batches and FDA filings later in 2026, targeting late-stage development by 2027.
Recognition
A collaboration with iFyber received the top SAWC research award for an MTX-001 wound-healing study in a human skin model (April 2026). Awarded a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Federal Supply Schedule contract for the Dermacyte AC Matrix amniotic membrane allograft.
