Ode
Anthropic joint venture that helps enterprises deploy frontier models.
The $1.5B Anthropic joint venture formerly known as Fractional AI opened a Raleigh office, with one role posted at $300K to $600K.
Ode, launched in May through a joint venture involving Anthropic, Blackstone, Apollo Global Management, Goldman Sachs, and Hellman & Friedman, describes itself as the bridge between Anthropic's frontier models and enterprises deploying them. It has seven employees at 5540 Centerview Drive in Raleigh, a billboard on I-440, and two open hybrid roles, including a principal, AI transformation position at $300K to $600K. CEO Chris Taylor called the Triangle full of fantastic technical talent and an important part of the company's growth strategy. Fractional AI had already planted its healthcare and life sciences division in the Triangle at the start of the year; local AI entrepreneurs Robbie Allen and Richard Boyd both read the arrival as evidence that enterprise AI work has moved from experimentation to deployment.

Capital
1 rounds
One disclosed round, and it doubles as a fund launch: LeVert Ventures' first investment brings strategic money from Corteva alongside it.
Infrastructure
Two arrivals on the institutional side of the map, a new agtech fund headquartered at RTP and a national tech publication starting a year of underwritten Triangle coverage.
Institutional
LeVert Ventures launches as a Pappas Capital-affiliated agtech fund
Founder and managing partner Karen LeVert, who previously led a Triangle agtech accelerator focused on commercializing university research, runs the fund from RTP as a specialized affiliate using Pappas Capital's back office. An unnamed Western North Carolina endowment anchors it; a February 2024 Form D sought up to $50M. The plan is 12 to 15 investments over four years in precision agriculture, crop protection, and indoor farming, national in mandate with a stated requirement that out-of-state investments have a North Carolina application.
Technical.ly begins a yearlong Research Triangle reporting series
The series is financially underwritten by Research Triangle Park, written by publisher and co-founder Christopher Wink, and framed by Wink as a series rather than a permanent bureau, for now. The announcement says the outlet will prioritize AI visibility in its publishing to help shape the region's identity, and its underwriter-independence language is explicit: RTP helps support where it reports, not what it reports.
